NFL 2010 Season Predictions: AFC South Jacksonville Jaguars

Today we start the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Sorry for the break in the teams, I was just traveling back home to Michigan from Colorado. I am six teams behind, so I will put up six teams today, so look at them all. Also, as many may have seen, Brett Favre reportedly retired today and that will of course change my predictions. I am going to wait and see what will stick before I change things, but I think it will more or less change the NFC more than the AFC, but I will let you know my changes when this announcement is for sure.

Analysis: This is a seriously flawed team. After leading most of the season in the wild card race last year, they faltered at the end and finished under .500. David Garrard is not a great quarterback, but I think he is better than some give him credit. Mike Sims-Walker is a pretty good top receiver and Maurice Jones-Drew is steadily becoming a top running back in the league. The problem last year was much the defense. Luckily, the team added some help here. Aaron Kampman from the Packers will help the defensive line, but the two top draft picks only add depth and don’t provide immediate starters. The secondary still suffers, and unless they can improve, this team is looking for another long season as the division continues to get better around them.

2010 Season Prediction: 3-13, Fourth in AFC South
