Here We Go Again: Favre Will Return

Well... with the report that Brett Favre had ankle surgery by ESPN's Chris Mortensen, we can pretty much assume that Favre will be returning for his 100th 20th year in the league.

Now, it is no secret that I am an avid Favre fan, so I am very excited to see him come back. He had one of his best statistical seasons last year. The Vikings almost made the Super Bowl (if not for the his INT's and the numerous fumble against the Saints), and the Vikings have one of the best defenses still this year.

So, why is this almost a sure bet? Well last year, Favre made it known that he was not a fan of surgery, and if he was going to come back, he would need it. Well, he got surgery on his shoulder, and he came back.

Again, this year he said if he was to come back he would need surgery on his ankle, and again, he got it done.

For a man who is not a fan of surgeries, getting them done says a lot.

Is it a smart move by Favre? I say yes. Many, many athletes have to undergo surgery to continue in their sport, and being he 40 and hasn't had that many in his career, I think he will be okay.

With star running back Adrian Peterson and emerging wide receiver Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice at his disposal, Favre has one of the most explosive offenses in the league. They lost Chester Taylor, but they picked up Toby Gerhart in the draft. Many people are not sure about this pick, and while he can't necessarily catch like Taylor can, he can fight for the short yardage. Seeing as Peterson is the fumble king, that is a good sign.

So here is to prospect of Favre making his return and continuing to increase his records (including interceptions).
