Analysis: The past week has been about two things with the Jets — wide receivers and cornerbacks. After losing out on the CB Nnamdi Asomugha to the Eagles, the Jets resigned CB Antonio Cromartie, who will again start opposite CB Darrelle Revis in one of the best 1-2 cornerback combinations in the league. The Jets also resigned WR Santonio Holmes, but lost WR Brad Smith in free agency and don’t look to be resigning WR Braylon Edwards, who led the team in yards and touchdowns last season. But, Holmes was the playmaker when the team needed something big. The biggest free agent signing was WR Plaxico Burress, who is two years removed from his last NFL game after serving a prison sentence on weapon charges. The team keeps intact a decent offensive line to protect QB Mark Sanchez and running backs Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson. The Jets have a great chance of making it back to the AFC Conference Championship game for a third straight season, but they must get better quarterback play from Sanchez in the post-season to get over that hump.

2011 Season Prediction: 11-5, Second in the AFC East and AFC Wildcard
